While doing our Panorama Route trip, we decided to stay in Sabie with our caravan. Our two main options in Sabie were Sabie River Camp and Merry Pebbles Resort. We really liked the look and rates of Merry Pebbles so we booked it for the three nights. Long story short, we loved it!

Great stay in Sabie

Apon arrival, the staff were very friendly and check in was a breeze. There was also a nicely stocked little convenience store, liquor store, and restaurant right at the front. We grabbed our key and drove on through to pick out our camp spot.

We came during off-season, so it was very quiet and peaceful. There was plenty of spots to choose from and we set up camp right next to the beautiful Sabie River which flows along side of the resort. As soon as we got there and set up, we knew that this was a great choice!

Merry Pebbles Resort also had really nice amenities like a heated and non-heated pool with slides, kids play area, tennis court, mini golf course, and a life size chess board (which was really fun to play). The bathrooms were also very nice and clean, with private stalls for toilets and showering.

While enjoying our time here, we also ate at a couple local restaurants like the Wild Fig Tree Cafe and Smokey Train. Both very good if you don’t feel like making your own food. We also took a drive to Sabie River Camp to see what we might have been missing. It looked like a decent camp, but we definitely made the right choice with Merry Pebbles. We will for sure stay there again if we plan to do another trip that way and would recommend to anyone considering visiting Sabie or doing the Pano Route!
